Taj Mahal is the ‘Most Instagrammed Cultural Heritage Site in the World’
India and Indians, it’s time to rejoice once again as the Taj Mahal has been voted as the ‘Most Instagrammed Cultural Heritage site in the World’! The beautiful white marble structure in the old city of Agra, has been attracting travellers from across the world in large numbers for a long time now.
In a hashtag study, the ‘Monument of Love’ had received over 2.4 million hashtags (2,391,689 million to be precise). Being one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal has always been a popular tourist attraction. The place is all about pretty gardens, stunning architecture and golden history.
On the second place in the list is France’s Palace of Versailles. A royal palace and a former seat of government, the place holds a significant place in the history of the world. Today it’s a prominent tourist attraction attracting millions of tourists every year.
The third spot was secured by the Statue of Liberty in the USA with 2,256,202 million hashtags. The fourth and fifth spots were taken by Machu Picchu and Petra, respectively.
On the other hand, the Grand Canyon received the tag of the world’s most Instagrammed natural world Heritage Site with over 4.3 million hashtags. The place attracted 4.73 million visitors in 2022 and people from across the globe visit the place to experience this geological wonder.
The Amalfi Coast in Italy is one number second spot of world’s most Instagrammed natural world Heritage Site with over 3.7 million hashtags. The place is so naturally beautiful and dreamy that it looks absolutely stunning and otherworldly.
Istanbul, on the other hand, was the most Instagrammed World Heritage City in the world with over 124.3 million hashtags! Rome, home to several iconic landmarks, like the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain, was on the second spot and third spot is taken by the beautiful European city Prague with 18.5 million hashtags.
