Sensex jumps over 500 pts, Nifty above 19,000; all sectors in green
Domestic markets opened higher on Friday after six days of selloff. BSE benchmark Sensex jumped 305.37 points, or 0.48 per cent at open, while broader NSE Nifty50 gained 87.15 points, or 0.46 per cent to 18,944.40.
By 9.55 am, Sensex jumped 530.82 points, or 0.84 per cent to 63,678.97, and Nifty50 climbed 155.25 points, or 0.82 per cent to 19,012.50.
NTPC, Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Infosys, M&M, SBI, PowerGrid, Sun Pharma and Maruti Suzuki led gains on the Sensex index. Additionally, in the Nifty50 pack, Apollo Hospital, Coal India, Adani Enterprises, Eicher Motors, Wipro, Nestle India, Bajaj Auto and Tata Consumer were also the top gainers.
In the Nifty50 and Sensex pack, only Hindustan Unilever, and Asian Paints were trading in negative.
All sectors were trading in green, as Nifty Metal and PSU Bank indices jumped 1.29 per cent each, followed by media index at 1.20 per cent, Nifty Financial Services 25/50 gained 0.97 per cent, and realty index jumped 0.92 per cent.
