Rajinikanth meets Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow, touches UP CM’s feet
Tamil actor Rajinikanth on Saturday met Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow.
The superstar will watch his recent blockbuster ‘Jailer’ with the chief minister. “I will watch the film with the CM. It’s God’s blessing that the movie is becoming a hit”, Rajinikanth had told ANI ahead of his visit to the state capital.
Earlier in the day, a special screening of ‘Jailer’ was held in Lucknow, which was attended by Adityanath’s deputy Keshav Prasad Maurya.
“I also got a chance to watch the movie ‘Jailer’. I had watched Rajinikanth’s many films and he is such a talented actor that even though there is not much content in the movie still he with his performance, he increases the importance of the film”, PTI quoted the deputy chief minister as saying.
Rajinikanth, who arrived in Lucknow for the screening of the film. He also met Uttar Pradesh governor Anandiben Patel.

The 72-year-old superstar will visit Ayodhya on Sunday. “Jee kal program hai. (Yes the programme is tomorrow),” he told ANI.
Before his visit to UP, Rajinikanth was in Jharkhand. He visited the famous Chhinnamasta Temple in the state on Friday and offered payers. He also spent an hour meditating at ‘Yagoda Ashram’ in Ranchi. This was followed by his meeting with Jharkhand Governor C P Radhakrishnan at the Raj Bhavan.
‘Jailer’ has been minting money at the box office, with the eight-day total collection at ₹235.65 crore till August 17. Directed by Nelson, the film has Rajinikanth essaying a man out to avenge the death of his cop son.
Besides him, the film also features Priyanka Mohan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi and Vinayakan in pivotal roles.
Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar and Jackie Shroff are in important cameos.
