Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hosted a Diwali dinner with the teachers and students of St Joseph’s Matric Higher Secondary School in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, where he talked about what his first government order would be if he became the Prime Minister.

Rahul Gandhi shared a minute-long video of the interaction and dinner with the teachers and students of St. Joseph’s Matric Higher Secondary School, where he can be seen talking about how his first order as the PM would be to introduce reservation for women.

The Congress leader shared the video along with the caption, “Interaction and dinner with friends from St. Joseph’s Matric Hr. Sec. School, Mulagumoodu, Kanyakumari (TN). Their visit made Diwali even more special. This confluence of cultures is our country’s biggest strength and we must preserve it.”

One of Gandhi’s dinner guests can be seen asking the Congress leader in the clip, “What will be the first government order you will be publishing as soon as you become our Prime Minister?” His reply focused on the development of women and children in India.

In his response, Rahul Gandhi said, “I would give women reservation.” Replying to the question, the former Congress president added, “If somebody asks me what would you teach your child; one thing – I would say humility, because, from humility, you get understanding.”

Earlier this year, Rahul Gandhi visited the St. Joseph’s School and interacted with the students. He was seen participating in push-up competitions with the students of the school, showcasing his fitness. He was also seen dancing and participating in other activities with students during his visit to the school.

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi will most likely be the Prime Minister candidate from the Congress party in the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. He has been the PM candidate from the party for the last two elections, in 2014 and 2019.
