Lock Upp Finale: Munawar Faruqui wins Kangana Ranaut’s show
Lock Upp’s grand finale ended on a high note as stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui lifted the winner trophy, beating Payal Rohatgi in the final race.
Kangana Ranaut did a countdown between Payal and Munawar, and Faruqui got locked out of the prison, stating him as the winner of the show. Munawar also won 20 lakh rupees prize money, a fully-paid trip to Italy, and a luxurious car.
Host Kangana Ranaut confirmed that the show will continue the revolution, and they will be back with another new controversial season. Munawar thanked the show, Kangana, and his audience. Ranaut also congratulated him saying that he truly deserve to win the show. Kangana also added that she doesn’t want an artist like him to be suppressed or bullied by anyone. An emotional Munawar promised his audience that he will continue to entertain them.
Before the winning moment, Kangana first eliminated Anjali Arora from the top 3. Ranaut stated that she has played a good game. But, she didn’t play independently, as compared to Payal or Munawar. Kangana further added that she didn’t have to think too much before choosing Munawar and Payal as the final two contestants.
Before that, jailor Karan Kundrra picked up Azma Fallah and Shivam Sharma out of the top 5 contestants and evicted them on the basis of audience votes, and their judgement. Karan Kundrra was accompanied by his girlfriend Tejasswi Prakash, and Kangana Ranaut took Karan’s case. Kangana invited Karan and Tejasswi on stage and perform on Naagin gin and Ek Ho Gaye Hum aur Tum. Kangana enjoyed their performance and wished they stay together forever. Ranaut terms a hashtag for them #ArrestedTogetherForever. Later, Ranaut said, “Humare show mein yeh Kaidis jab aaye they tab aarop leke aaye they, toh TejRan, ab aap ek aarop lagayege ek dusre pe. Tejasswi instantly revealed that Karan is obsessed with his phone, and she hates it.
Lock Upp was aired on February 27, and till May 8, with 10 weeks and 70 days, the show has earned more than 500 million views online.
