Ladakh To Host World Record Making Fashion Show With Globe’s Top Beauty Pageant Winners
There is a good news for the fashion enthusiasts. According to ANI, The Ladakh International Music Festival has a unique fashion show being held at the world’s highest motorable road, Umling La, at a height of 19,022 feet in Ladakh sometime between 23rd August 2023 and 3rd September 2023.
Called ‘Ladakh International Fashion Runway’ the show anticipates having dramatic performances, displaying unique couture, and overlooking breathtaking landscapes, in the heart of the Himalayas. The organizers of the event are also attempting to make a new record at Guinness World Records as a fashion show held on the world’s highest motorable road.
Fashion show to be held at the world’s highest motorable road
The event is an initiative by Ladakh Art and Entertainment Alliance in collaboration with the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council and the Indian Army. Mr. Pankaj K. Gupta, is curating and mentoring the event. He is an International fashion expert and two-time Guinness Book of World Records holder, once for the highest altitude fashion show on land which took place at 5,500m in Nepal and, another for the highest altitude fashion show on land held in Nepal for Kasa. The show will reportedly feature women leaders from the member countries of G20 and guest countries, including Miss Earth India Vanshika Parmar, Miss Earth Italy Giulia Ragazzini, Miss Earth USA Lindsey Coffey, Miss Universe Japan Yuumi Kato, Miss Earth UK Luissa Burton, Miss Earth Germany Annabella Fleck and Miss World Bangladesh Rafah Nanjeba Torsa, among others.
Vanshika Parmar, Miss Earth India posted on her Instagram about the fashion show with a caption that read, ‘We are all set to makermakeORY and immortalise Incredible India’s G20 presidency with the momentous @ladakhfashionrunway.official being organized by the Ladakh Arts and Entertainment Alliance in collaboration with the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council and the Indian Army. Mr. Pankaj K Gupta @yashas04, an eminent and illustrious International fashion expert and two-time Guinness Book of World Records holder, is curating and mentoring this historic one-of-a-kind event which is also a Guinness World record attempt! Our goal is to launch a sustainable campaign that has never been attempted before in history. Our motto is “Peace, Friendship, and Long-Term Development.” The Sustainable Fashion Show’s agenda is to slow down fast fashion and encourage nonviolent silk. Empowered Queens from G20 countries who have graced the Miss Earth, Miss World and Miss Universe stage will bring half a kilo of sand, and after the Fashion Show on the 30th at Umling-La, the empowered Queens will mix the sand onto a readymade mould of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam at the highest altitude in the world (19,022 feet)’
Miss Earth USA Lindsey Coffey, also took to Instagram and posted a picture that read, ‘I’m humbled to represent the USA at the Ladakh International Fashion Show during the G20 Summit in India. With our motto “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, meaning, “The World Is One Family”, our goal is to unite our countries and launch a sustainable campaign urging to slow down fast fashion while encouraging the use of ethically sourced materials. After the show, which takes place on one of the world’s highest roads, we will mix sand collected from each of our countries on a readymade mould of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” at the highest altitude in the world (19,022 feet). If accomplished, our names will go down in the Guinness Book of World Records, forever encouraging “One Earth, One Family, One Future”. Thank you, Mr. Pankaj K.
