ISRO SSLV takes 1st flight; AzaadiSAT has payloads developed by students
The Indian Space Research Organisation’s small-lift launch vehicle has begun its maiden flight. The vehicle carries an earth observation satellite – EOS-02 – and AzaadiSAT, which carries 75 different payloads developed by students.
The countdown for the mission – which began at 2:18 am – lasted for seven hours. The launch s divided into three stages, and the first stage was said to be normal. The second stage has also been ignited now.
The SSLV can carry mini, micro and nano satellites, weighing between 10 and 500 kg.
