International scheduled flights from India postponed till January 31
The Director General of Civil Aviation (India) has just announced postponement of international scheduled commercial flights till January 31.
The civil aviation body also issued a circular regarding the same, stating that “In partial modification of circular dated 26-11-2021, the competent authority has decided to extend the suspension of Scheduled International commercial passenger services to/from India till 2359 hrs of 31st January, 2022.”
Cargo operations and flights running under special arrangements are exempt from this ruling.
Scheduled international commercial flights to and from India were previously slated to commence from December 15. The date has been extended now in the wake of Omicron, the new mutant of COVID-19 that has left the travel industry in lurch again.
India, like a number of other nations, has also prepared a list of ‘at-risk’ countries. The said list includes United Kingdom, other countries in Europe, South Africa, Brazil, Botswana, China, Ghana, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Hong Kong and Israel.
