Infy, L&T, ICICI Bk lift Sensex to day’s high, up 400pts
An upbeat global mood lifted equity markets on Wednesday. The S&P BSE Sensex advanced 360 points, or 0.50 per cent, to quote at 71,697 levels, while the Nifty50 was at 21,551, up 110 points or 0.51 per cent.
In the broader markets, the BSE MidCap and the BSE SmallCap indices gained in the range of 0.7-0.8 per cent.
Individually, shares of Adani Green Energy added 2.4 per cent after the company said it has completed the transfer of 1,050 MW renewable portfolio to a JV between AGEL and TotalEnergies for $300 million. Besides, it announced on Tuesday that the Adani family will invest Rs 9,350 crore in Adani Green Energy through a preferential issuance of warrants at Rs 1,480.75 per share.
Those of Zee Learn, meanwhile, too surged ovee 3 per cent even as Axis Bank filed a plea before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) seeking insolvency proceedings against the Zee group company.
Among sectors, all the key indices were trading with a positive bias led by the Nifty IT index (up 0.7 per cent), the Nifty PSU Bank index (up 0.6 per cent), and the Nifty Realty index (up 0.5 per cent).
