IMD alert: Heavy rains predicted in these states for next few days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in the peninsular part of the country in the coming days. According to the department’s recent warning, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over the East-central Arabian Sea.

In such a situation, due to the effect of cyclonic circulation, it has been predicted that for the next 5 days, moderate to heavy rains will lash South Peninsular India while Maharashtra will see moderate rains for the next 2 days.

The Meteorological Department issued an orange alert on Sunday, forecasting heavy rains in six districts of Kerala on October 12, 13 and 14. Meteorologists have issued an orange alert for three days in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki districts in a bulletin issued at 4 pm. Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued for Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, Malappuram and Kozhikode districts.

According to the weather agency, this cyclonic circulation is located over the North Andaman Sea and the neighborhood which extends up to the middle troposphere level. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is very likely to form over the same area during next 36 hours. Let us tell you that now a Red Alert is issued in the event of more than 20 cm of rain in 24 hours, which means heavy to very heavy rain. Orange alert means heavy rain i.e. between 6 cm to 20 cm, while yellow alert means 6 to 11 cm of rain.

Monsoon is departing from many states of the country, while in South India, it is wreaking havoc. In South India, rains are not stopping. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be more rain in parts of Kerala, Karnataka and Telangana. A warning of heavy rain has been issued in the coastal areas of Karnataka from October 11 to 13 and in the interiors of the northern part till October 12 and 13. At the same time, heavy rain has been predicted in some places till October 14.
