New day. New trend. As such, a new makeup trend is going viral on the internet. So much so that our beloved celebrity and supermodel Hailey Bieber has also jumped on the bandwagon. It is called ‘latte makeup’. But what exactly is it?
Pooja Walia, Director, Pooja Walia Studio, said the latte makeup trend is a beauty style inspired by the warm and comforting hues found in a delicious cup of latte. “It aims to create a soft, neutral, and cosy appearance, reminiscent of the creamy tones in a latte,” she added.
This makeup trend typically focuses on achieving a natural, understated look with warm, earthy tones that complement various skin tones.
Walia explained that you would need a warm-toned makeup to ace this look. Pick an eyeshadow palette with shades like beige, taupe, caramel and chocolate brown, to create the look. You can skip the eyeliner or use one in brown on dark brown for a soft definition.
Here is a step-by-step guide to achieve the latte makeup look:
Step 1: Prep your skin by cleansing, moisturising and applying a primer to create a smooth base for makeup application.
Step 2: Apply your chosen foundation or BB cream all over your face, blending it evenly with a makeup sponge or brush.
Step 3: Use the concealer to cover any imperfections or dark circles under your eyes and blend it seamlessly into the foundation.
Step 4: For the eyes, start by applying a light beige or cream eyeshadow shade all over the lid as a base.
Step 5: Take a warm-toned eyeshadow like caramel or light brown and blend it into the crease to add depth and dimension to your eyes.
Step 6: Apply a darker brown shade to the outer corner of your eyes and along the lower lash line for a soft definition.
Step 7: If desired, lightly line your upper lash line with brown or dark brown eyeliner for a subtle look. Avoid harsh lines. Instead, smudge it slightly for a softer effect.
Step 8: Curl your lashes and apply a coat or two of mascara to add volume and length.
