Elisabeth Svantesson to represent EU Council of Ministers at G20
Swedish Minister for Finance Elisabeth Svantesson will represent the EU Council of Ministers at the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting in Bengaluru, India, on Friday and Saturday.
European Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni and President of the European Central Bank Christine Lagarde will also take part on behalf of the EU.
This is the first G20 FMCBG meeting since India took over the Presidency of the G20 on 1 December 2022.
Along with G20 members, international organisations such as the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank Group and the World Health Organization will also attend.
The G20 comprises 19 countries and the EU. Together they account for approximately 90 per cent of the world’s economy.
