Eilat to host FIBA 3×3 World Cup 2023 Qualifier
The city of Eilat, in Israel, will host the FIBA 3×3 World Cup Qualifier 2023 on May 6-7 in the Eilat Ice Mall.
6 men’s and 6 women’s teams will compete for the last 3 tickets to the FIBA 3×3 World Cup 2023, which will take place in Vienna, Austria, on May 30 – June 6.
The participant teams are the hosts (Israel), the best teams in the FIBA 3×3 Federation Ranking (on November 1, 2022) which are not yet qualified for the FIBA 3×3 World Cup and the Zone Cup runner-ups from the 2022 season.
The 2-day event will feature 3×3 World Cup 2016 winners Czech Republic women’s and 2-time 3×3 Asia Cup winners Australia (women). In the men’s side, the event will be highlighted by hosts Israel and Asia Cup 2022 silver medalists New Zealand.
List of participants:
Men: Hungary, Israel, New Zealand, Rwanda, Trinidad and Tobago.
Women: Australia, Colombia, Czech Republic, Israel, Madagascar and Switzerland.
The last team participating in the men’s category will be announced at a later stage.
The FIBA 3×3 World Cup Qualifier 2023 is on the road to the Paris 2024 Olympics. The winning teams (in each gender) will get a ticket to the FIBA 3×3 World Cup 2023, where the 3 medalists qualify for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
