Republican leader Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on January 20. His inauguration ceremony will take place inside the rotunda of the US Capitol building at 12:00 pm ET (10:30 pm IST).
Who is expected at the ceremony: At the event, external affairs minister S Jaishankar will be the Indian representative. Other global guests, Chinese vice president, Japan and Australia’s foreign affairs ministers. Additionally, all the living former presidents of the US, Bill Clinton, George W Bush and Barack Obama will be in attendance at the swearing-in ceremony.
On the eve of his inauguration ceremony, Donald Trump held a ‘Make America Great Again Victory Rally’ at the Capital One Arena and reiterated on fulfilling his plans on immigration, birth right citizenship, the war in Ukraine, among others.

Major tech giants including Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, Amazon co-founder Jeff Bezos, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg will be seen at Donald Trump’s oath ceremony today.
Interestingly, this will be the first time in 40 years that the US presidential inaugural ceremony will be held indoors at the US Capitol rather than outdoors. The move to shift the ceremony indoors was made in view of the cold weather conditions.
