Delhi Police recover weapons used by Aaftab to chop Shraddha’s body
The Delhi Police have recovered some weapons that were used by Aaftab Poonawala to chop his partner Shraddha Walkar’s body.
A ring that belonged to Walkar and Aaftab had gifted to his new female friend, a psychologist whom he had befriended through the Bumble dating app and taken to the flat, has also been recovered, thee police said.
The police, however, have not clarified what all weapons have been recovered, from where and when. The police officials have confirmed that the recovered weapons are the same that Aaftab had used to chop Walkar’s body.
Aaftab has been sent to 13-day judicial custody and has been lodged at jail 4 of Tihar prison. He is being monitored 24×7 using CCTV cameras His polygraph test at the Forensic Science Laboratory in Delhi’s Rohini is underway since 11 am.
He was taken for the first session of his polygraph test on Tuesday. He then reportedly fell ill on Wednesday, and was taken for subsequent sittings on Thursday and Friday.
Aaftab Poonawala allegedly told the Delhi Police he murdered his live-in partner Shraddha at their Chhattarpur apartment six months ago. He then chopper her body into at least 35 pieces, stored them in a refrigerator for about three months and then dumped the parts in South Delhi and Gurugram.
It has also been revealed that Aaftab had reportedly dated another woman from the same dating app through which he had connected with Shraddha. The woman had visited his apartment when Shraddha’s body parts were stored in the freezer. The woman is a psychologist and has been grilled by the Delhi Police.
