Delhi murder case live updates: Sahil accused of 16-year-old’s murder, brought to UP hospital

A 16-year-old girl was stabbed to death, allegedly by her 20-year-old boyfriend, in Delhi on Sunday, police said on Monday morning. The accused, Sahil, was arrested from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh hours after the gruesome murder.

The girl had planned to attend a birthday party when Sahil stopped her in the middle of the road and stabbed her multiple times and he also ended up hitting her head with a stone.

Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police Suman Nalwa said on Monday, “We have arrested the accused, Sahil from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. He used to work as a mechanic for AC and Refrigerators. Further investigation is underway, We will make sure that the maximum punishment is given to the accused.”

Call to his father landed accused Sahil in Police net in Delhi teen street murder

The accused Sahil involved in the horrific murder of a minor girl in New Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy area was arrested after he made a phone call to his father, police said on Monday.

Police, while revealing the details of how the accused was arrested, said that the accused went into hiding after switching off the phone. Police said that technical surveillance was put on him after the accused had called his father.

“After the incident, the accused had fled and went to his relative in Bulandshahr to hide. However, after reaching there, he called his father and after that, the police arrested him through technical surveillance,” police sources said. Police also said that the accused Sahil had switched off his mobile after committing the murder.

‘It is a matter of concern’: NCPCR chief

National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) chief Priyank Kanoongo said on Monday, “We have taken cognizance of the incident and sent a notice to the Delhi Police regarding this. AAP government claims of increase in crime against women in Delhi

Stabbed 16 times, skull ruptured: preliminary findings

The 16-year-old girl, who had been stabbed to death allegedly by her 20-year-old boyfriend Sahil, had been stabbed 16 times and her skull was ruptured after being hit by a blunt object, the preliminary findings of the post moterm report stated, news agency ANI said.

ANI further said that the police were waiting for a detailed post-moterm report.
