Cooperation in the sphere of media relations between Russia and India
Apropos to G20 summit, MOU signed by DRSIP & ANC
On the 9th of September 2023, the Russia-India specially privileged strategic partnership entered a new phase by coming into power with a cooperation agreement between the center for the development of Russia-India strategic partnership DRISP headquartered in Moscow and Asia News Channel based in INDIA.
Both countries have been actively engaging in sectors like energy, military, and healthcare, especially pharma. This one-of-a-kind agreement opens a new developmental vector in an area previously left unexplored in the context of the Russia-India partnership. This is what the heads of both organizations had to say on their social platforms:
“In today’s world managing international media relations is an art that could increase the economic, geopolitical, and cultural weight of a country through perception formation. I believe that this historic agreement will usher in unprecedented cooperation that will expand the boundaries of the specially privileged strategic partnership enjoyed by both countries” – said Mr. Prasun Prakash, the Director of DRISP.
“This agreement will be a milestone instrumental in cementing the development of media, business, and cultural relations between both countries. The collaboration is based on a collective commitment to go beyond common boundaries to build bridges between diverse faiths and peoples by connecting India & Russia together through the universal language of media, business, and cultural relations. The Memorandum of Understanding we signed is the beginning of what we believe to be a long relationship in which we will learn from each other through cooperative pursuits” – said Dr. Sanjeev Dev Malik Director of ANC.
This agreement guarantees the exchange of news updates, journalism practices, public relations expertise, and media delegations between both countries. The document is seen as a first step towards signing of more such agreements preferably between the media channels of Russia and India. One of the immediate positive effects would be the increase in business interactions through the collective efforts of DRISP and Asian News Channel.
