In a latest COVID update, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has removed its warning against cruise ship travel.

So travellers can now plan cruise trips without going through any COVID protocols. It’s nearly after two years of pandemic that the CDC has removed caution against ship travel.

On Wednesday, the agency updated its website about cruise ship travel and removed all the warnings. Dave Daigle, CDC spokesperson, told local media that the decision was taken after analysing the current pandemic situation. The country has seen a huge decline in COVID-19 cases on cruise ships recently .

Daigle said, “CDC is removing the COVID-19 Cruise Ship Travel Health Notice. Travellers will make their own risk assessment when choosing to travel on a cruise ship, much like they do in all other travel settings.”

He further said that they feel this was a long time coming and that they know this move as a “demonstration of all of the hard work this industry has done to ensure that we’re offering the safest way to travel”. The decision comes 14 days after the CDC lowered its warning against cruise ship travel to a “Level 2”.

As of now, the CDC has recommended travellers to be updated with their vaccination before boarding a cruise.
