The prestigious Festival De Cannes aka Cannes Film Festival 2023, will be held from May 16 to May 27 this year. Ever since the Cannes 2023’s dates were announced, fans from India have been eager to know the Indian films that are set to be screened at the film festival this year.

Let us tell you, unlike last year, the number of Indian films that are going to be screened at Cannes 2023 is very less. Notably, Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy, Rahul Roy’s Agra, and other films are on the list. Let’s have a look:

Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy

Anurag Kashyap’s directorial venture, Kennedy, will be screened at Cannes 2023. The film is part of the Midnight Screenings section of the film festival. Talking about Kennedy, the Anurag Kashyap directorial revolves around an ex-cop, thought to be dead, who operates for the corrupt system and looks for redemption. Kennedy stars Sunny Leone, Rahul Bhat, and Abhilash Thapliyal in the lead roles.

Agra

Rahul Roy-starrer Agra will have its world premiere at the Directors’ Fortnight section of the Cannes Film Festival 2023. Directed by Kanu Behl, the film marks the comeback of the Aashiqui star after many years. The film is about an exploration of sexual dynamics within a family. Produced by Saregama India Ltd, UFO Production, and O28 Films, Agra also stars Priyanka Bose, Mohit Agarwal, Vibha Chibber, and others in key roles.

Ishanou

Manipuri filmmaker Aribam Syam Sharma’s 1990 film, Ishanou will be screened at the Classic Section of the Cannes Film Festival 2023. Notably, it is the only Indian film that has been shortlisted in the section of Cannes 2023.
