Amritpal Singh’s gurudwara speech at Bhindranwale’s village in Moga before arrest
Pro-Khalistani preacher Amritpal Singh addressed a gathering at a Gurdwara in Rode village of Moga district before being by the Punjab Police on Sunday morning.
Rode is the native village of Khalistani separatist-terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, whom Amritpal Singh admires. Amritpal Singh is often called as “Bhindranwale 2.0” by his supporters.
In the video, Amritpal Singh can be heard claiming that he is “going to surrender today”.
Confirming the Waris Punjab De chief’s arrest, the Punjab Police has urged people to maintain peace and harmony and refrain from sharing any fake news after the arrest of Amritpal.
Police further said he is being sent to Assam’s Dibrugarh jail.
He has been taken to the Air Force station adjoining the Bathinda airport under heavy security. “He is an NSA subject and will be taken to Dibrugarh,” said a police source.
The Punjab Police has already invoked the stringent National Security Act (NSA) against the Khalistan sympathizer.
Amritpal had been on the run since March 18 when a police crackdown was launched against him and his aides.
The police on March 18 had launched a major crackdown against Amritpal Singh and members of his outfit ‘Waris Punjab De’.
He and his associates were booked under several criminal cases related to spreading disharmony among classes, attempting to murder, attacking police personnel, and creating obstructions in public servants’ lawful discharge of duty.
