AFMC conducts conference on climate change & environment
The department of community medicine at AFMC, Pune, under the aegis of Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), conducted a three-day armed forces conference on climate change and environmental susceptibility from June 13-15.
It drew more than 300 attendees, comprising faculty members, postgraduates and undergraduates from diverse disciplines and institutions across India.
Dr Roderico Hofrin, World Health Organisation (WHO) representative to India and Dr Atul Goel, Director of General Health Services (DGHS) attended the conference.
Senior armed forces officers, including Lt Gen Arindam Chatterjee, Director General Medical Services (Army) and Col Commandant of Army Medical Corps (AMC), released the conference proceedings as well as chaired the plenary session on managing disasters.
