PM Narendra Modi to launch Indian Space Association today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be interacting with the representatives of the space industry of India and will be launching the India Space Association (ISpA) today, which is the industry body aspiring to be the voice of the Indian space sector.

PM Modi will be interacting and addressing the various stakeholders of this project today, October 11. He will also be interacting with various scientists and representatives of the space industry in India on this occasion.

As per information provided by the government, the ISpA will undertake policy advocacy and engage with all stakeholders in the Indian space domain. The ISpA will come up with various technological advancements and innovations in the space industry of the country.

The ISpA will further echo the prime minister’s vision of the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and move towards making India self-reliant, technologically advanced, and a leading player in the space arena, the PMO said.

Various homegrown and global corporations with advanced capabilities in space and satellite technologies have come together to form the India Space Association, as per the official release.

According to the PMO, the founding members of the ISpA include major companies such as Larson & Toubro, Nelco (Tata Group), OneWeb, Bharti Airtel, Mapmyindia, Walchandnagar Industries, and Ananth Technology Limited. Some of the other core companies are Godrej, Hughes India, Azista-BST Aerospace Private Limited, BEL, Centum Electronics, and Maxar India.
