Planning To Travel To UAE? Check New Visa Rules For Indians

If you’re an Indian who has plans to travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), having a permanent resident card (green card)or a visa from the US, the UK or any European Union country enables you to obtain a 14-day entry visa upon arrival in the UAE.

The ties between India and the UAE are on an upswing in the last few years and the country currently hosts to more than 3.5 million Indian citizens.

As per the updated rule, Indian Nationals travelling to the UAE will now be able to get visa-on-arrival based on their visa to countries like the US, UK or the EU. Earlier, this was only available to the Indian nationals holding residence permits in the US, UK, and EU.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) on Thursday announced that the Indian nationals, with ordinary passports, holding visas to the European Union (EU), the United States (US), or the United Kingdom (UK) will now be able to get a visa-on-arrival in the UAE.

“Indian citizens and their family members who hold ordinary passports will be granted bisa on arrival at all ports of entry in UAE,” the statement said.

The new rule will be applicable to –

1. A valid visa, residence or green card issued by the United States of America.

2. A valid visa or residence issued by the European Union countries and the United Kingdom.

3. The passport’s validity period shall not be less than (6) months.

The statement said that the Indian nationals will be eligible for visa-on-arrival for 14 days, which can be extended, or 60 days upon paying the prescribed fees.
