Appeals were also made to maitain ‘proportionality’ in Israel’s response to Hamas’ surprise attack on the country on October 7 that killed 1,400 people.

Meanwhile, Israel escalated its attack at targets in Gaza which has spiralled the death toll leaving at least 5,791 Palestinians killed and 16,297 wounded.

As the United States backed Israel’s objective to self-defence amid reports of a possible ground invasion into Gaza, President Joe Biden said Israel can make its own decisions, while urging to maintain caution.

The ongoing aerial strike on Gaza is a part of Israel’s three-phase retaliatory plan which also has ground incursion and a change in the regime as their following objectives.
