NIA files chargesheet against Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar on terror nexus case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filled a chargesheet against gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar for having links with the banned pro-Khalistan outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and other similar terrorist groups in one of three terror-criminal nexus cases. The chargesheet has also named 12 other individuals.
The NIA has alleged that Bishnoi, along with Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, has been operating his terror-crime syndicate from jails. He has been in jail from 2015.
In 2022, the investigating agency had taken Bishnoi in its custody from the high-security Bhatinfa central jail in connection with a case related to a conspiracy by terror outfits and criminal syndicates to execute sensational crimes in the country.
The investigation found Bishnoi as the main mastermind of several conspiracies being hatched by different terrorist outfits in India and abroad. The criminal syndicates are comprised with gangsters and drug smugglers.
Bishnoi has also been found responsible for providing killers for the RPG attack case on Punjab state intelligence headquarters in Mohali. “Lawrence Bishnoi terror-crime-extortion syndicate was also responsible for providing killers for the RPG attack case on Punjab State Intelligence HQs at Mohali, which was carried out on directions of Harwinder Singh alias Rinda, a Pakistan-based BKI terrorist,” NIA said.
