8 dead including 5 children found fatally shot at home in US’ Utah: Report

Eight people, including five children, were found dead following an apparent shooting at a home in US state of Utah, authorities said, as per news agency Associated Press.

When the police conducted a welfare check at the residence, the incident was brought to light, officials in Enoch said.

However, the officials did not give any motive for the shooting adding that they do not see any threat to the public. The shooting took place in a city of about 8,000 people which is located south of the Salt Lake city.

“At this time, we do not believe there is a threat to the public or that there are any suspects at large,” city officials said, as per New York Times adding that the investigation is underway.

A person who who works at a nearby event venue told New York Times that he knew the victims well as they attended the same church as him. “We’re all just shocked and heartbroken. The people who live here love their neighbors,” he said.
