Thailand renews its pan-India visa processing mandate

When more and more people nowadays are opting for visa-friendly destinations, the Government of Thailand, along with the VFS Global, the global visa outsourcing firm, has good news for us Indians.

Travel to Thailand got just a bit easier after the Thailand government renewed its pan-India visa processing mandate with VFS Global.

As per the new visa processing mandate, VFS Global will operate drop box services in 11 new cities in India. At present, this drop box service is available in cities like Agra, Amritsar, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Ludhiana, Patna, Siliguri, and Visakhapatnam.

New cities where the drop box services will be made available are – Aurangabad, Bhopal, Coimbatore, Indore, Lucknow, Mangalore, Nagpur, Nasik, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vijayawada.

Nowadays, we are seeing an increasing trend of travellers young and old, corporate/non corporates, looking for destinations that won’t have too much of hassles when it comes to visa processing. It’s easy and convenient travel that everyone is looking for these days. Also, with the recent trend of digital nomads, more and more travellers are spending a lot of their time travelling overseas to new exotic destinations from where they can work.

With the introduction of these new visa application drop off centres, travellers from these Tier-2 cities will no longer have to travel all the way to other big cities or nearest places where these services are available.

At present, it is visa-on-arrival for Indian passport holders who are travelling to Thailand for a maximum stay of 15 days.

In case the stay is longer than 15 days, you will need to apply for a visa at your local Thai Embassy. The dropping off of visa applications in such cases is made easier with these remote drop off centres.
