Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra announced on Wednesday that she has tested positive for Covid-19, adding that she will isolate at home and follow all the protocols.

“Tested positive for covid (again!) today. Will be isolating at home and following all protocols,” she tweeted.

This is for the second time that the Congress general secretary has contracted the infectious disease. On June 3, a day after her mother, party president Sonia Gandhi, was found positive, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra announced she, too, has tested positive with mild symptoms.

Last year, on April 20, her brother, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, tested positive

Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s announcement of her latest bout with the virus comes just five days after she participated in the grand old party’s pan-India protests against the central government over price rise and inflation.

Clad in all-black – Congress leaders wore black clothes for the protest – she was seen leading a march outside the party headquarters in New Delhi. Videos captured her hopping over police barricades and sat down on the road on being blocked by the police.

Eventually, women personnel were forced to drag her, after which she took the politician away in a police car.
