Dubai is a hub of ethnicities and cultures from all around the world, so it would be right to expect the food scene to be equally as vibrant.

Dubai is a hub of ethnicities and cultures from all around the world, so it would be right to expect the food scene to be equally as vibrant.

Here’s a look at the best offbeat dining Dubai has to offer.

3 Fils

If you’re hankering for a fresh, exciting meal, 3 Fils is the place to go. Named after the lowest denomination in the UAE’s currency, 3 Fils takes diners on a journey through its delicious dishes. The otoro tuna nigiri is a highlight and so fresh you’d think it leapt out of the sea onto your plate. Try the karak ice cream, and be sure to bust your phones out for the Instagram-worthy delight.

The Chillout Lounge

The Middle East’s first ice lounge has opened in Dubai, catering to diners who are itching to get away from the heat. Located in the Times Square shopping mall, the cafe describes itself as “spellbinding with its ice sculptures, ice seating and tables and a uniquely illuminated interior, all at a subzero temperature.”

Parker’s

Don’t expect to get into Parker’s just by walking in – the restaurant requires punters to find a secret key before they can enter. The hunt for the key may be exhausting, but it’s well worth it. The spicy toffee shrimps, shawarma slider and lime hot pasta with crispy fried chicken are worthy of any hunt for any and all keys.

Noire

An experience like you’ve never had before – diners at Noire in the Fairmont hotel are encouraged to take the leap and eat in pitch-black darkness. Give the waiter your dietary restrictions and be prepared for a feast that will excite the taste buds, because without being able to see the food, this is the sense that will be the most prominent.

Theatre by Rhodes

Have you ever been in the cinema and craved a luscious, juicy burger? Fear no more, for Theatre by Rhodes gives you that option and more. Just kick back in Vox Cinemas’ reclining, comfy seats and wait for your meal to arrive while watching the latest blockbuster.

At.mosphere

Dine at the world’s highest restaurant in the world’s tallest building. The Burj Khalifa’s At.mosphere offers a selection of food and drinks perfect for looking out onto Dubai’s ever-expanding metropolis. But be warned: this is not for diners on a budget.
