Heavy rains lashed Delhi and its nearby areas, with met department forecasting more rains to continue till Thursday.

IMD said that he sky will remain generally cloudy with light rain or drizzle expected.The department further added that winds over Delhi and NCR have changed to easterly and so intensity of rains will increase gradually.
 
Since the onset of monsoon on July 5, the national capital has recorded 54.2 mm rainfall.
 
The Met department has also forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Kerala and Coastal Karnataka and heavy rainfall at isolated places over Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Konkan and Goa, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and Odisha.
 
Further rough to very rough sea conditions are likely to prevail over southwest and central Arabian Sea, along and off Gujarat and Maharashtra coast, Maldives, Lakshadweep and Kerala coast.Squally weather is likely to prevail over north Andaman Sea and adjoining east central Bay of Bengal.
 
Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
