"Beauty in Abstraction" an Art event by Vikram Sethi was held from 14th - 15th July 2018 and 23rd to 29th July, 2018, at Hotel ITC Sheraton, Saket, New Delhi.

"Beauty in Abstraction" an Art event by Vikram Sethi was held from 14th - 15th July 2018 and 23rd to 29th July, 2018, at Hotel ITC Sheraton, Saket, New Delhi.

This being a three artist show of artists : Ms. Suruchi Andhare Jamkar (Mumbai), Mr. Donald Green (Australia) and Professor Vivek Nimbolkar (Professor in Vishwakarma University, Pune)

Ms. SURUCHI ANDHARE JAMKAR - This artist has a strong foundation in drawing, painting, pottery, and murals complemented by knowledge of different techniques and various media, with a vivacious urge for expanding the horizon of experiences. Her track record is impressive , of initiative and achievement — seeking out freelance projects, expanding the experience boundaries, volunteering, and being selected for representing the contemporary Indian art scenario.She did her Master of Fine Arts from Lalit Kala Vibhag, Nagpur University, Nagpur and Bachelor of fine arts from Sir JJ School of Arts, Mumbai.

She has commissioned works for 12 painitngs for the entire Dining Hall of RSI, Hyderabad in 2013-14. She has travelled all over Europe (London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Madrid, Lisbon, Florence, Venice, Rome, Paris, Vienna, Salzberg, Prague) studying and getting inspiration from the art masters of the world(2008, 2012).

Her works are in the collection of : Embassy of Chile, New Delhi, Rajendra Sinhji Institute, Hyderabad, Birla Steels, Delhi, ICBC Bank of China, Lowe Lintas, Mumbai, Cymroza Art Gallery Mumbai,The Oberoi Mumbai, The Taj Delhi. The awards won by her are - All India South Central Zone for Sculpture 2004, Rotary Club Prize 2001, Dolly Kersetjee Award 2001, Nehru Cultural Award1995, Camlin Award 1994.

Donald Green, Australia - A world famous artist,Donald Green from Australia ...... has more than five decades of experience.Below is a brief profile of his : Donald H Green, an artist with a passion for nature and architecture. Study / Travel / Europe, Greece, North Africa, 1959 / 1963 -1968 : Travel has been an essential life-long element for Donald. After graduation from The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Dip of Art 1960, he worked as a junior art-director in an advertising agency. In 1963 Donald toured Europe then settled for four years in Greece, in the ancient, Heritage village of Lindos on the island of Rhodes. Melbourne sponsor-ship enabled Donald to begin the cycle of producing and selling his artwork in Australia. In Lindos he was also artistic director for William E Clow’s hand-weaving cottage industry: Looms of Lindos which produced wide meterage that was sold in many European cities. From his Greece base, side-trips followed – with drawing trips toTurkey, Tunisia, Libya, Paris, London. (Lindos Panorama Drawing / L of L Fabrics) Theatre set-design.

1969-70 & ‘83 : His fascination at a very early age for creating illusion and miniature ‘new visual worlds’ in his model theatre, evolved to designing twelve productions at the famed Provincetown Theatre-Workshop, and several Off-Broadway productions, USA. 1969-70  / The Victorian State Opera, Australia,1983.NYC, 1969-70 / UK, 1993 : Closely linked to the world of theatre, is the historic desire toenrich a space with murals. The largest project Donald executed was to assist UK artist Polly Hope to paint the 1400 sm. Pointillist-style mural in the vast foyer of the London Philharmonic at the Barbican Centre. Other, more romantic and illusionary murals adorn houses in London, NYC and Perth. (Barbican Centre mural/Chinese Garden) New York. Recently, Donald H Green has appointed art curator Vikram Sethi as his facilitator in India.

Professor Vivek Nimbolkar, Pune - This artist is a specialist with abstract art and is also a professor of Art in Vishwakarma University , Pune. His works inspire artists to imagine ,conceive new forms of abstraction.

The event was well attended by Delhi's elite and art loving crowd ... a few names being Mr. Nianjyot - owner of Restobar "LOCALE", Ms. Payal Singh - of Apollo Tyres, Ms. Naina Thapa - Super model from India/South Korea, Mrs. Aruna Sethi - Vice President, North India Regional Council, Indo American Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Vijay Chowdhury - Chairman Ram Rattan Group, Ms. Bandana Sondhi - Model, Mr. Dhruv Rattan Lal - Industialist, Mr. Dilsher Singh - Art Collector, Ms. Kiran Thakur Singh - CitiBank, Mr. Bharat of Citibank, Mr. Aditya of Citibank, Ms.Puja - fashion and art Entrepreneur, Ms. Richa Sharma...and several others.

Two artists Ms. Suruchi Andhare Jamkar and Professor Vivek Nimbolkar were present too.

Mrs. Benita Sharma - Area Manager/General Manager, Golden Triangle, ITC Sheraton, Saket  alongwith Mr. Kavra - F&B Manager, Mr. Rishi Matto - Resident Manager and Mr. Abhinav, gave very good support to this wonderful art and wine event. Banking industry  major CITIBANK as well supported "Beauty in Abstraction" event.  

Art Curator, Vikram Sethi won the Business Eminence Service award 2017 in February 2017, for the best art curator of 2016  ( he also had won the Bharat Nirman award 2015 for the best art curator) and he has the talent to bring together a lot of talented, emerging artists and helps in promoting them . This show is on display from 14th & 15th July 2018 and then from 23rd July till 29th July, 2018 at Hotel ITC Sheraton, Saket, New Delhi.
